ArticlesFreestyle competitions 2010There will be 4 national freestyle events in 2010 open topaddlers of all abilities and experience. The best 2 out of 4 results will be combined to form a league ranking. The winners of the league ranking will be crowned British Champions 2010. Event 1: 22/23 May, Tryweryn (organisers: Pyranha) Event 2: July 10th Boulters event (organisers: Marlow Canoe Club/Squarerock) Event 3: 2/3rd Oct, HPP (organisers: Freestyle Committee, to include Club Championships) Event 4: 20th/21st Nov, Hurley Classic (organisers: Kayakojacko) Categories will include Expert/Open in Ladies/Mens and Juniors/Seniors. Ranking, scoring and format of events are yet to be confirmed. Any team paddlers/sponsored paddlers/anyone wishing their results to count for selection will need to enter the Expert category. Any other paddlers (novice/intermediate) can enter the open event. C1 and OC1 will run with the Expert mens, but results will be taken out for British Championship/selection purposes. It is hoped that this year's results will then be used to form 'divisions' for next year's competitions. The 2nd/3rd October will include a one-off squirt boating British Championship event to determine the 2010 Squirt boating champions. Fiona Jarvie |
