General Information - Selection2005 Worlds Team SelectionThe 2005 World Freestyle Championships is to be held on the 18th – 30th January 2005 at Penrith, Australia. Selection for those wishing to represent Great Britain will take place on 10th September 2004 Tryweryn, Bala (Not Squirt) 11th September 2004 Home Pierrepont, Nottingham 12th September 2004 Holme Pierrepont, Nottingham using a different feature As in past years your best 2 results from the 3 events will count, with the exception of Squirt where both will count. In the event of a tie the result from the 3rd event will be used. If there is still a tie then the highest single run score will from the 3 events will be used. Anyone wanting to enter selection should complete the entry form and send it along with a cheque for £30 per category made payable to 'BCU Freestyle Committee' and proof of membership of BCU, WCA, SCA, or CANI to Chris McMurray 19 Quayside Close Turneys Quay Nottingham NG2 3BP Click Here to Download Form The closing date for entries is Wednesday 1st September 2004. No entries after this date will be accepted The team size is K1 Surface Men – 5 K1 Surface Women – 3 K1 Surface Junior Men – 3 K1 Surface Junior Women – 2 OC1 Surface Unisex – 2 C1 Surface Unisex – 2 K1 Squirt Men – 3 K1 Squirt Women – 3 Paddlers entering selection should only do so if they intend to travel, as you will be expected to confirm your place by the 19th September 2004. Any places not accepted by this date will be offered to other paddlers. Please can all paddlers bring their passport numbers with them to the events so that those making the team can be registered with the Australian Event Organizers. The Freestyle Committee is trying to raise additional funding to help with the cost of travel. Unfortunately at the moment very little funding is available so paddlers should assume that no funding will be available. Accommodation has been booked and the Freestyle Committee will subsidize this. Ollie Castle |
